Firefox 3.5.3 Update Breaks BBC website

by: WanderingTechy Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Since the update which didn’t give me an option as far as I can see. The BBC website can no longer be customised. I have clicked the close icon on the sport box and it keeps coming back. I enter my postcode and it keeps resetting it to London. I am a techy and have had a quick look through all the settings, Cleared out cookies and restarted the PC all to no avail.

Let me know if you have had a similar problem please. No need to login to comment.

It doesn’t appear to be FireFox after all, It does it in Internet Explorer as well. I just jumped at it because FF had just updated and I hadn’t looked at the BBC website that day yet. Windows XP just updated at the same time so I now suspect that had something to do with it. I will be doing more research later this morning to find the actual cause.

Broken in XP using both IE and Firefox 3.5.3 and also on Linux (ubuntu 9.04) with Firefox 3.0.13.

I suspect the Beeb is the problem as they have their new customisation in beta

It appears to be across multiple OS’s and Browsers and other than Brian no one seems to be having problems with any other sites?
